Councillor of Commerce Johann Wessenthaler

Johann Wessenthaler was born in Puchheim in October 1919. After attending the local school in Attnang, he joined his father’s company in 1934. In 1946, after his father’s death, he took over the management of the company. From the very beginning, his prime focus was concrete production and trading. After the Second World War, he quickly transformed his father’s commercial business into a wholesale company and a concrete and prefab factory.

1964 – 1979 Appointed Chairman of Volksbank Attnang-Puchheim

1972 Awarded the title of Kommerzialrat (Councillor of Commerce)

1989 Awarded the Silver Medal of Service of the Province of Upper Austria

1993 Awarded honorary citizenship of Attnang-Puchheim

1996 Awarded the Certificate of Honour for 50 years of entrepreneurship by the Economic Chamber

1999 1999 Awarded the Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria

Councillor of Commerce Johann Wessenthaler, who had served as President of the Association of the Austrian Cement Industry for many years, passed away in 2004.
